Toasting Jack on Twitter, Facebook
Brand cheers. It’s Jack Daniel’s 159th birthday and the Jack Daniel Distillery has designated the entire month of September the official period of celebration. And while the town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, is no doubt the rightful place to be to raise a glass to Mr Jack, the party’s also taken on viral and virtual dimensions.
The brand has created a Facebook app, Give Us A Toast, that analyses a visitor’s list of friends and works out which ones to toast based on who of them are most active on the social network. Pals with a September birthday take precedence over all of course.
On FB you’ll also find a recipe for Jack Daniel’s Liquid Cake. It’s simple enough – a shot of JD, add some Tuaca and Frangelico liqueur, then garnish with whipped cream.
Twitter users haven’t been left out of the fun and can tweet a toast to Mr Jack with the hashtag #toastjack.
