The iPhone app Distilled
Photo shop. Swatch has partnered with fashion and art photography magazine Distill to develop an app that delivers a digital version of the mag to the iPhone and iTouch. The handset-based publication offers shoots from womenswear, menswear, streetwear, accessories and the visual arts. Plus commentary and analysis of each shoot is provided by V&A curator Susanna Brown and photographer Ben Dunbar-Brunton.
Distill, so called because it trawls the world’s style and fashion press to publish the best content from the likes of A Magazine, Huge, Numero and Zink, also boasts names such as John Galliano, Donatella Versace and Stefano Gabanna on its editorial board.
“Distill exists to promote the creativity of the magazine industry, to celebrate the brands and creatives whose work we showcase, to raise the creative bar and to take great magazines to a much wider audience,” says the publication. “Distill is a primary source of inspiration for creatives worldwide.”
brand-e: Talk is cheap, but the app costs £2.99 – shouldn’t it be free if a brand’s behind it?
