Taking social media on the road
Points South. Chevy is hitting the highway, with See The USA In A Chevrolet: A SXSW Road Trip. The campaign will see eight teams of social media types embarking on a scavenger hunt leading from their hometowns to the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas.
Oh, and they’ll do so behind the wheels of some of Chevy’s newest vehicles.
There will be 50 challenges in total and, eventually, a winner. “The winning team will be the one that not only has completed the most challenges, but has done the most interacting with their community on Twitter and their own sites,” the motor marque says.
Wait, there’s more.
Chevy is asking consumers to come up with challenge ideas via Twitter and Facebook, and the brand will take its favorite 45 notions to the teams involved, and make them required missions on the road trip.
But aren’t there 50 in total?
“We’re going to pick one challenge for each category ourselves,” Chevrolet says. “Hey, it’s our promotion, so we get to pick at least one, right?”
