Taken to the brand cleaners
Procter & Gamble is aiming to rise with the Tide for one of its detergent brands as it plans to roll out a raft of franchised Tide Dry Cleaners operations across the US. P&G opened a trio of test Tide Dry Cleaners – developed by the company’s FutureWorks unit – in Kansas a couple of years ago and is now going national.
P&G is moving into services “that are virtually unbranded,” Michael Stone, head of The Beanstalk Group, told Bloomberg. “One would think consumers would trust a Tide Dry Cleaners because they know P&G is behind it.”
