California lawmakers are considering a bill which would allow the state to trial ad-carrying electronic licence plates for cars. The plates would carry the vehicle’s registration number under normal conditions but switch to flashing digital ads if it remains stationary for more than four seconds. Advertising revenue would go to the hard-pressed state of California.
