US online shoe and apparel brand Zappos has rolled out a digital magazine for iPad. The monthly publication, Zappos ZN, contains editorial-style content featuring branded products with links to purchase.

Karl has a new Phone app, Hogan by Karl Lagerfeld. The designer has joined forces with a baker’s dozen of names from the world of fashion and art to come up with a photo gallery featuring elements of the Hogan’s ultralight down coats and windbreakers, zip-through jackets and sleeveless body warmers and bombers.


Fashion brands socialise with Chinese youth

adidas-chinaFashion brands grab four of the top 10 brand rankings for Chinese youth on the Sina Weibo social networking platform, according to a report, China’s Young Consumers In The Age Of Social Media, from CIC and GroupM. adidas originals takes fourth place with a 2.75% youth following, with Converse in seventh (1.6%) ahead of Vancl and H&M in ninth and tenth, respectively. adidas is classified as a ‘trendy’, ‘fresh’, ‘indie’ brand, according to the report, while Converse is also trendy, while boasting ‘street snap’ too. VANCL is ‘funny, friendly’ and H&M is about ‘information’.


Facebook shoes, by Converse

Converse has tasked its Facebook fans with selling branded footwear. Via the Made By app on the social network, users can design their very own versions of the brand’s shoes, and then market them via a Facebook store. And five pairs sold equals one pair free for the social media designers.


Tweet for Gaga retail

Consumers can tweet their way into Barneys Madison Avenue with Gaga Constellation, part of Lady Gaga’s Holiday Workshop on the New York Store. Users tweet their holiday wishes into the constellation’s window installation with the #gagastars hashtag and posts are selected by Gaga design collaborator Nicola Formichetti.


Clarks puts the boot into music
