Co-creation leg-up for Lego

Lego has joined forces with Japanese open innovation outfit Cuusoo System, to launch the Lego Cuusoo co-creation platform aimed at getting consumers to submit ideas for new Lego products.

The Ship Song by Sydney Opera

Tune in to Sydney Opera House’s The Ship Song Project. What is it? It’s the venue reinterpreting Nick Cave’s The Ship Song in a crowdsourced kinda way. You see, over the last year, the SOH asked artists to perform parts of the song. Cue the likes of Paul Kelly, Temper Trap, Martha Wainwright, as well as the Sydney Symphony, The Australian Ballet the Australian Chamber Orchestra.


Branded twecipes

Tweet Pie: The World’s Shortest Recipe Book has gone on sale. What is it? It’s a compilation of crowdsourced recipes put together by Belling. The UK cooker brand put out a call for ‘twecipes’ via Twitter earlier this year and the result is a bound copy of short-form recipes for starters, main meals, desserts, drinks, and snacks.


Co-created banking

first direct is planning to crowdsource marketing campaigns via its new first direct Lab co-creation website. Initially the UK bank’s consumers will get a say in the development of a mortgage smartphone app and on QR codes.


Bands go crowdsourcing

umgBy Steve Mullins. Universal Music Group has joined forces with crowdsourcing platform Talenthouse to create campaigns for its roster of bands.

Talenthouse will work with artists and labels using its social media competitions, while Talenthouse’s campaigns will drive traffic to Universal online properties and boost artists’ Facebook presences via the company’s voting platform. Talenthouse has already created contests for Universal’s Paul McCartney, Florence & the Machine, Taio Cruz, Queen, Lady Gaga, Ryan Leslie, Maroon 5 and Game.


Music video, crowdsourced

vaccinesBy Maria Stadtmueller. Sony Music has gone with crowdsourcing for the next video from The Vaccines. It’s for the band’s new single, Wetsuit, and fans can submit tagged photos – #vaccinesvideo – via photo-sharing app Instagram.

Not just any old photographs, though. The Vaccines say they want to see festival-style pix of ‘bands, tents, fields, mud, thrills, spills, fields, mud, thrills, spills, the lot’.
