Mercedes-Benz is heading for the living room. The car marque has partnered with Italian design company Formitalia to develop a furniture collection comprising a three-seater sofa, chaise lounge, chairs, dining table, a sideboard, shelves with home theatre, a set of drawers and a bed. “The various pieces of furniture reflect the progressive, dynamic design idiom of our current show cars and concept vehicles, offering an exclusive, emotional experience outside our vehicles as well,” says Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz.

The Chevrolet has been around for 100 years. And in the past few decades, the brand has been slotted into a fair number of music videos. There’s the 1966 Camaro in the Kings Of Leon’s Camaro, the Camaro Z-28 in Chevrolet from ZZ Top, Elton John’s Corvette Sting Ray in Dreaming Of My Chevy, and let’s not forget Prince’s red-hued Corvette either.

Renault UK has rolled out a new Facebook application, Renault 4+ 4 years in 4 pictures, which enables consumers to showcase their most popular images from the last four years on the Social Network’s new Timeline feature, writes Steve Mullins. The app, developed by Publicis ‘Team Renault’, asks users to select one image from a shortlist for each of the past four years before generating a unique image for the Timeline cover.

The Italian city of Modena has a new Ferrari museum in the shape of the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari. It was designed by Future Systems of London, cost €18 million, stands on the ruins of the old house where Enzo Ferrari lived, with the original dwelling preserved together with the Ferrari workshop.

Citroën and Facebook have developed an app to enable consumers to participate in the design for a new special edition version of the C1 city car. The Citroën C1 Connexion will be the first production vehicle in the UK crowdsourced on the Social Network. The car creation process will play out on Citroën UK’s official Facebook page and visitors will be able to choose the number of doors, exterior and interior colours, and comms equipment such as Bluetooth or SatNav.
