Tackling teens on fashion

habbo1Teen togs. Nike, adidas and Puma are the top three fashion brands for teenagers, with Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Gisele Bündchen the leading fashion icons for girls, according to a global fashion survey conducted by Habbo Hotel.
And what are the best sources of fashion inspiration?
That would be a 1-2-3 for clothes shops, friends and magazines, with TV and the Internet following closely behind.
“The top three online sources of inspiration consist of clothing store websites, fashion brands’ own web pages, and fashion blogs,” Habbo says. “Fashion blogs are more popular among girls, with 34% following them actively, compared to only 19% of boys. In contrast, boys are more enthusiastic than girls to take fashion tips from social networks such as Facebook.”
Unsurprisingly, the survey found that fashion is a very important aspect of teens’ lives, with nearly 70% of all respondents saying so. A vast majority (82%) also state that they enjoy shopping for fashion, with slight differences between girls (92%) and boys (74%). Over half of the respondents say they shop for clothes, shoes and accessories at least every couple of weeks.
Virtual community Habbo recently launched the Habbo Runway campaign with a search for fashion designer. The competition will be judged by recording artist and teen icon Miley Cyrus.
