TV series launches on Pinterest

  • Sharebar

beat-girlPinterest has its first TV show. beActive has launched a new web series, Beat Girl, on the digital pinboard, an interactive drama following a 21-year-old woman, Heather, who turns to music and DJ-ing to help her make sense of her life. Audiences can follow Heather through photos, images and video clips updated daily at Pinterest.com/BeatGirlWorld, writes Steve Mullins.

The series – inspired by the Novel Beat Girl by Jasmina Kallay – was created to exploit the potential of Pinterest and its photo-sharing capabilities, and bring back the popularity of the photonovels of the sixties and the seventies, says beActive, the maker of online series such as Sofia’s Diary and Flatmates. Heather’s life and her relationships are illustrated through images fans can Pin and share with one another.

“Beat Girl the web series was designed to exploit the new features of this exciting new social network that is Pinterest,” says beActive CEO Nuno Bernardo. “The tools and functionalities introduced by Pinterest allowed us to release the content the way we envisioned. As a world’s first we expect that in the future more and more stories will be told on this network using photos and still images”.
