Life’s a… YouTube movie

lgLG has joined forces with YouTube to roll out the Life In A Day crowdsourced film campaign. Users are being asked to upload clips of their experiences on 24th July to feature in a dedicated YT channel, and in a feature.
“Life In A Day is a historic global experiment to create a user-generated feature film, shot in a single day, by you,” the organisers say. “On July 24 you have just 24 hours to capture a glimpse of your life on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into an experimental documentary film, produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin MacDonald.”
The film will bow at Sundance next January and on YouTube. Contributors making it into the finished work will get co-director credits. Twenty of them will be sent over to the fest.
Any filmmaking tips on offer?
Well, shootists should remember that no part of their day is too ordinary to be included. Personal and specific is good. And there are no limits. Neither should there be brands or trademarks.
And why is LG into this cinematic campaign? LG – Life’s Good… And Life In A Day is the brand’s way ‘of embracing the extraordinary experience of life in all its glory’.
