KLP takes on the bullies
Speak out. UK anti-bullying charity Beatbullying has tasked marketing communications agency KLP with raising awareness of the issue and with driving traffic to its online mentoring service CyberMentors.org.uk, where victims of bullying can share their problems and get advice from trained young people.
“Bullying is a huge social issue and one that everyone can relate to,” says Karen Delaine-Smith, associate director of KLP. “If we can help point children to a place where they can share and learn how to overcome their fears, as an agency it’ll be a very fulfilling and rich piece of work to be involved with.”
Activity will complement the recently launched You Can Speak Now campaign by M&C Saatchi.
TV ad clearance outfit Clearcast last month ruled that the YCSN TV spot, which featured a teen girl sewing her mouth closed, was too distressing to be broadcast. MP Anne Maguire MP last week tabled a motion calling on Clearcast to reconsider its decision.
The banned TV ad can be seen on Beatbullying’s YouTube channel.
