Kellogg’s puts Tweet into retail

Kellogg’s has opened a pop-up shop in London where customers have to pay by Tweet rather than hand over hard currency. The Tweet Shop, a retail outlet for Special K marking the cereal brand’s move into the savoury crisps market, asks shoppers to Tweet a message about Special K Cracker Crisps before handing over the product.

“The value of positive endorsements on social media sites is beyond compare so we’re excited to be the first company to literally use social currency instead of financial currency to launch this new product in our bespoke Special K shop,” says Sarah Case from Special K.

The Tweet Shop – in Soho’s Meard Street – London is open until 28 September.
