Homebase… and the living room on platform one
Domestic training. DIY retailer Homebase decked out Carlisle’s train station as part of a campaign to transform spaces across the UK. The brand transformed the waiting room into a lounge, grew a garden on one platform, and installed a kitchen, among other home improvements.
The makeover went down well with locals who formed a Facebook page, Keep Carlisle Train Station Like This, which has attracted more than 8,000 members.
However, that makes 8,000 souls without a cause. For Carlisle train station is a listed building and Homebase won’t be settling in for the long-term.
