Hats off to Benito’s burrito
Benito’s Hat Mexican Kitchen is asking Mexican food fans to gather at the restaurant near London’s Oxford Circus tomorrow to help build the UK’s biggest-ever burrito. That means a 20 metre tortilla wrap and over 30kg of ingredients, including chicken, tomatoes, tomatillos and coriander, with those helping to eat the final product encouraged to make a donation to homeless charity StreetSmart.
Participants need to ensure they have liked Benito’s Hat on Facebook before pitching in.
The Burrito initiative is a follow-up of last month’s Day Of The Dead campaign carried out by Benito’s Hat together with agency Unity. A car was decorated Mexican ‘Muertos’ style and used to promote a Twitter-thon competition in London where people could win a burrito lunch for their office. In under 72 hours, the campaign reached more than 780,000 people and generated 1.25 million impressions.
