Film boasts first QR code ad

Coded movie. Indonesia has got its first QR code advertising in the form of print ad promo-ing the domestic film Merah Putih. The mobile quick response code ran during in a print ad, and users who scanned it with their handsets were taken to the movie’s site where they could watch the trailer and write comments.

“The campaign was hugely successful, driving potential customers online and generating further interest through a new medium,” says Ricky Subrata, CEO of BBDO Indonesia. “We are now encouraging our clients to capitalise on this technology going forward.”
