Dell’s takes its penchant for design to NYC
Little’s laptops. Dell has developed a penchant for design. Not content with offering us all those little tablets of colour in the shape of the Inspiron, this prosaic PC brand has now gone all artsy and installed designer Douglas Little’s riffs on its Adamo laptop – along with a lot of dressing – at Bergdorf Goodman in New York.
From 23 October to 9 November, the department store featured Little’s Adamo designs in their Tales Of Technology window displays. And if you want to view what New Yorkers have been able to see down there on 5th Avenue – well, we have the time-lapse video of the installation right here. (And you can have fun playing spot the laptop.)
“Douglas Little has merged high fashion and technology with his one-of-a-kind Adamo laptops,” Dell says. “Master of the uncommon and exquisite, Little’s intricate designs reveal small delights in every detail.”
Which means you get things like a crystal-encrusted silver snake from those tastemongers Swarovski stuck on the lid of an Adamo. And a series of laptops transformed into tarot cards and embellished with a ‘crystallized Swarovski element’. And there’s an opium den version on show in those windows too.
Detailed? Yes. Tasteful?
