Crowdsourcing – it’s war!

  • Sharebar

gueraraLogo battles. Buenos Aires-based Connaxis pulled in close to 400 designs in four weeks for the contest to create a logo for its new Guerra Creativa creative community platform. Connaxis – which tags itself a ‘creative outsourcing specialist’ – says the new platform can be used by companies “to crowdsource creative work to a community of quality designers. It sets itself apart from other crowdsourcing initiatives due to its playful battlefield concept, community arena, profiling functionality, modern design and multilingual application.”
And true to the platform’s name, Connaxis leans heavily on the warfare lexicon.
“Guerra Creativa is a community platform for the creative,” the outfit says. “We provide you the battlefield and weaponry to conquer the creative world. Creative soldiers have the opportunity to battle their enemies for monetary prizes, develop a reputation by climbing the ranks, construct professional profiles and meet new creative allies. Enlist with Guerra Creativa and prepare your artistic weaponry. Victory can be yours!”
“Thousands of companies are started every day,” says Peter van Grinsven, md of Connaxis, in less bellicose fashion. “In the past, these companies, whilst considering a logo or web design, ran the risk of limited choice, bad design, high price or provider lock-in which made the whole process problematic. Now, with Guerra Creativa, everyone has access to affordable design and choice. You name your price, watch designers compete for your work, and finally you choose the best design.”
For the creative, Connaxis says the new platform provides access to international clients and can improve his/her chances in the global marketplace by publishing a profile and portfolio, all while competing in contests for cash prizes and making new creative friends.
We miss the fighting talk (a little bit). So please be informed that Guerra Creativa’s slogan is ‘You might lose a battle but you can win the war’.
How come?
“We acknowledge that when entering a logo or design contest there can only be one winner,” says Stephan Vassen, gm of Guerra Creativa. “However, Guerra Creativa provides real world experience with the necessary training to improve skills in order to help the creative succeed as a professional. Therefore we say that a creative might lose a battle but can ultimately win the creative war.”
OK, battle commences on the Guerra Creativa platform. And if you want to see video action, go here.
