Mobile steel. The Tate Modern has come up with an iPhone app for its latest Turbine Hall commission, How It Is, from Miroslaw Balka. The Polish artist’s steel structure stands 13 metres high and 30 metres long in situ, and the accompanying app is an interactive interpretation of his work.
There’s a ‘thumbpad joystick’ which allows users to explore a 3D world, plus encouragement to tap the phone to trigger extra visuals and audio.
As well as a video interview with Balka, app aficionados will get a related game if they take the iPhone along to the museum.
