cool creative: in touch with ipad tales

toolofnaVery nice stuff indeed for the iPad in the form of an app comprising a quartet of interactive films, Touching Stories. These are ‘touching’ shorts because viewers are invited to actively push the narrative around in the various tales at different points by shaking and patting their iPads.
In the interactive video adventure All Ends, Ends All by Erich Joiner and Jason Zada you’ll need to get that iPad moving to escape the guys shooting at you.
And there’s Triangle by Tom Rouston. “[It’s] a scene that plays out in a seedy hotel room but most of the action happens through the reflection in a TV screen,” says ad agency Domani Studios. “As the user you will be able to peel back more layers of the story by how you interact. Search out different elements in the motel room, such as the telephone and door placard to unlock hints, flashbacks and clues.”
And there’s The Most Interesting Couple in Britain by Geordie Stephens which plays out on a theater stage featuring a married couple who have grown so comfortable and bored in their relationship they no longer have anything to say to each other.
Plus Sarah and Jerry by Sean Ehringer, featuring a number of characters in a house who have entered a zone where they are being controlled by the user. Think Truman Show, but the viewer is the one pulling the strings.
Here’s the Making Of video.
