Cadillac hits the mobile trail
Android wheels. Pandora Media, the Net radio and music discovery service, has signed up Cadillac to be the first advertiser on its new mobile marketing platform on the Android smartphone. Pandora will deliver the brand’s banner ads that allow consumers to click through to a WAP page where they can look at images of the new 2010 SRK model and use a locator to find the nearest Caddy dealership.
Cadillac will be the sole advertiser Pandora’s Android platform until end-2009.
“With this strategy, Pandora continues its mobile leadership position and enables us to take this rapidly growing user base to premium brands like Cadillac and ensure that they will be able reach and engage a core demographic target with their marketing message,” said Aimee Higgins, vice president, sales strategy and planning for Pandora. “Cadillac smartly wants to reach hip, on-the-go, affluent consumers — an audience Pandora readily delivers.
Pandora has been lending its cool music kudos to brands for a while, having signed up Brita to sponsor exclusive streaming of a Dave Matthews Band album, and running three Net radio channels for vitaminwater.
