Brands pepper the Facebook rankings

Social branding. Brands made a pretty good showing in Inside Facebook’s Top 20 Facebook Page rankings in the week to 1st February.
Oreo gained almost a quarter of a million fans to total 3.6 million thanks largely to a cookie giveaway. And Coca-Cola’s Facebook page landed the number-six spot thanks to the launch of a virtual gift that doubles as a $1 donation for the Boys & Girls Club charity.
Starbucks came in at fourteenth, with a weekly jump of 56,000 to 5.6 million fans. Some of the spike is likely also due to Haiti-related relief efforts being plugged on their page.
