Bovril wants a beautiful Britain
Country cosmetics. Bovril is asserting it case to be the official drink of the Great British Outdoors by asking consumers to nominate a UK spot, ‘whether it’s a rickety jetty, or a tired-looking campsite’ for a makeover
‘We love the great outdoors – every single, freezing, windswept bit of it,” the hot-beverage brand says. “And for 120 years we’ve been warming the Great British cockles and giving people the strength to go out and enjoy it.
“Well, after a century fortifying the British Public, we thought it only right to start helping the tired British countryside too.”
Those wanting a makeover for their favourite outdoor spot have until February to make their nominations and then gee up others to support their choice. The shortlist will comprise the top 100 locations. A Bovril judging panel for the Great Outdoors Revival campaign will see to it that five projects get a chunk of the £100,000 on offer and a chance to get that much prettier.
The brand isn’t in this alone, though. The campaign is supported by The Angling Trust, the Camping and Caravanning Club and The Ramblers.
