Amex puts Chesney with Demme
Hot on the heels of slotting Usher into a live-streamed gig in London, American Express has now lined up Kenny Chesney as the next artist to perform in its American Express Unstaged music series. Chesney will go onstage on 20 June on the beach in Wildwood, New Jersey, with Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme producing the livestream on a dedicated Vevo channel on YouTube, on Vevo mobile apps and on Vevo’s Xbox Live app.
Amex is promising audiences fans extra content in the form of ‘special enhancements’ linked to tweets posted during the performance using designated hashtags. American Express cardmembers can also download a free copy of Chesney’s hit single Come Over at iTunes.
“This is going to be an unforgettable experience for fans in Wildwood and those enjoying the livestream wherever they are,” says Chesney said. “Working with Jonathan Demme to bring together elements of my new album [Welcome To The Fishbowl] to this classic American beach boardwalk venue has been terrific.”
