Agency in the hood
By Steve Mullins. Idea good. Ogilvy & Mather in the UK has gone all pop-up and is setting up an Idea Shop in London’s Brixton. The store will be open for three days from 4th to 6th February and will offer free support for local businesses, community projects, art groups and individuals in the area.
The Idea Shop comprises high-level ad and marketing creatives, strategists and planners who ordinarily work for the agency’s big brands. Visitors will be able to take advantage of the Ogilvy group’s expertise in areas such as advertising, PR, digital, e-mail, social media, direct marketing, branding, design and copywriting.
“Small local businesses are the lifeblood of their communities and play a vital role in the UK economy,” says O&M copywriter Ruth Jamieson, who came up with, and is also running, the scheme. “Marketing plays an essential role in the successes of any enterprise but these businesses can’t afford to employ communications professionals. With this scheme we’re hoping to at least put them in the right direction by giving them some practical advice and help.”
Those interested in tapping Ogilvy expertise can book an hour of thinking time with the agency.
